Serhii Plokhy
Serhii Plokhy (born 1957) is a Ukrainian-American historian and professor at Harvard University, where he serves as Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute. He is one of the leading contemporary scholars of Ukrainian and Eastern European history.
His research focuses on Cossack history, the formation of Ukrainian national identity, the Cold War, and the collapse of the Soviet Union. He is the author of numerous acclaimed works, including “The Gates of Europe,” “The Last Empire,” and “Chernobyl.”
