Dmytro Pavlychko
Dmytro Pavlychko (1929–2023) was a Ukrainian poet, translator, literary scholar, public figure, and diplomat. He is considered one of the most prominent voices of Ukrainian poetry in the second half of the 20th century.
His work encompasses civic, philosophical, and intimate lyric poetry. One of his most famous poems, “Two Colors,” became a widely known song. Pavlychko actively participated in Ukraine’s national-democratic movement and the development of statehood.
He authored numerous poetry collections and translations of world classics, contributing significantly to Ukrainian cultural and intellectual life.
