Zakhar Berkut is a historical novel by Ivan Franko, written in 1883. Set in 1241, it depicts a Carpathian community led by the wise elder Zakhar Berkut as they resist the Mongol army.

The novel celebrates self-governance, collective spirit, and love for the homeland. The work became a symbol of Ukrainian resistance and was adapted into a film in 2019.
