- My Velyka Oleksandrivka!
My Velyka Oleksandrivka!
Yuliia Vlialko
So wild and full of mystery,
Unique, alive, one of a kind,
As dear to me as mother’s language,
Deserving words from heart and mind.
She has not faded through the years,
Though time has never stood still,
She only grew more strong and bright —
My Velyka Oleksandrivka still.
The hum of engines fills the air,
The Inhulets runs deep and strong.
No one abandons those they love,
Where faithful hearts forever belong.
The sands drift softly through the pines,
An ancient oak touches the sky,
Its branches rising high above,
Guarding the forest standing nearby.
The restless wind keeps moving on,
It sweeps the streets both night and day.
And in the valleys, hidden wells
Give life to lands along their way.
The birds may call me far away,
But here I’ll stay — my home, my land.
For here my heart will always belong —
Velyka Oleksandrivka, forever mine.
