While the first book was told from Otem’s perspective, this one gives a voice to three other characters: Finn, his best friend Jack, and Finn’s mom.

The book is divided into three parts:

Finney’s Perspective: We finally learn what he was thinking all those years while he and Otem were drifting apart. This is the story of a boy who always loved one girl but was too scared or too noble to ruin her current relationship.

Jack’s Perspective: An outside view of Otem and Finn’s relationship, as well as how the tragedy affected their circle of friends.

The Aftermath: A story about how loved ones try to move on after the fatal accident, and how they cope with the void left behind.
