Voroshylovhrad is a cult novel by Serhiy Zhadan. The hero returns to his native industrial city in eastern Ukraine and finds himself at the center of a struggle over property, memory, and identity.

Voroshylovhrad is one of Serhiy Zhadan's most famous novels, adapted for film and awarded numerous prizes. Herman returns to Luhansk to sort out his missing brother's affairs.

The novel is about eastern Ukraine, about people who remained on the post-Soviet ashes and build lives among abandoned factories and endless steppes. Zhadan created a piercing story of love for one's land.
