The Last Hetman is a historical novel by Mushketyk about Kyrylo Rozumovskyi — the last Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host.
The Last Hetman is about Kyrylo Rozumovskyi (1728–1803), the last Hetman of Ukraine. Mushketyk shows the decline of hetman power and Ukraine's gradual absorption by the Russian Empire.
The novel combines historical accuracy with artistic interpretation of a key moment — the loss of Ukrainian autonomy in the 18th century.
