Pages of a Diary is a selection from the diary of Oleksandr Dovzhenko (1894–1956), the great Ukrainian filmmaker, screenwriter, and prose writer. The diary, which Dovzhenko kept over many years, has become one of the most poignant documents of twentieth-century Ukrainian culture.

The entries reflect meditations on the fate of Ukraine, anguish for a people who survived war and famine, and profound thoughts on art and creativity. The diary was long banned from publication and only appeared in print during the years of Ukrainian independence.
