Nurse Amy Leatheran is invited to care for the wife of the expedition leader, who lives in constant fear and believes that someone intends to harm her. Soon the woman is found dead in her room, and it becomes clear that she has been murdered.

Hercule Poirot becomes involved in the investigation and must uncover the truth among a small circle of suspects. The isolated atmosphere of the expedition creates a tense and mysterious setting for the crime.
