The Golden Age of Modernism: This collection features works by such masters as Mykhailo Kotsyubynsky, Olha Kobylianska, Vasyl Stefanyk, Volodymyr Vynnychenko, as well as lesser-known but influential authors.

Thematic Shift: Instead of descriptions of the peasants’ harsh fate, the focus shifts to the inner experiences of the individual, their subconscious, eroticism, existential crises, and the search for identity.

New forms: The works demonstrate a transition to refined language, a play with time and space, and the use of stream of consciousness.

The editor’s contribution: Vynnychuk did not simply compile texts; he constructed a coherent picture of how Ukrainian literature synchronized with contemporary European trends (the Vienna and Paris schools).
