Dialogues with the Soviets — Stanisław Vincenz

Dialogues with the Soviets is a memoir-essay work by Stanisław Vincenz about his experience living under Soviet occupation in the Hutsul region.

Dialogues with the Soviets describes the collision of two worlds: traditional Hutsul culture and the Soviet system that arrived in Western Ukraine in 1939.

Vincenz was a Polish-Ukrainian writer whose main work On the High Uplands is devoted to the Hutsul region. Dialogues with the Soviets is an important testimony about the beginning of Sovietization and combines memoir with deep philosophical analysis.
