Oliver Twist is Charles Dickens's second novel (1838), one of the most famous in world literature. Little Oliver, an orphan, falls into a gang of juvenile pickpockets led by Fagin.

Dickens created unforgettable characters — Fagin, Bill Sikes, Nancy, the Artful Dodger — and exposed the harsh underbelly of Victorian London. The novel became an indictment against social injustice.
