The ABC of Friendship — Nataliia Chub
“The ABCs of Friendship” (Russian: “Azbuka druzhby”) is a heartwarming, kind, and educational book by the well-known Ukrainian children’s author and practicing psychologist Natalia Chub. The book is written in the format of a fairy tale with lessons, gently and unobtrusively teaching young children the basics of emotional intelligence and communication.
Since the author of the book is a psychologist, each of the animals’ adventures explores a topic that is important for children:
What is friendship? How to make friends and become a good friend yourself.
How to resolve conflicts? The book teaches children to apologize, forgive, not take offense over small things, and share their toys.
Accepting others: Understanding that we are all different, but each of us is special and valuable in our own way.
Mutual support: Why it’s important to support those who are in trouble.
