Viktor Vald "The Sword of Sahaidachny"

The victory of the Cossacks in the Battle of Khotyn Fortress was as magnificent as it was bloody. It was there that the glorious Hetman Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachny was wounded. As a mark of honor and in tribute to his great feat, he received a ceremonial sword from the hands of the Polish Prince Władysław. This weapon became a symbol of Cossack bravery and freedom, making it a prime target for the enemies of the Cossacks. When the relic is stolen, the young Ivan Sirko, along with a group of reckless companions—both intentional and accidental—embarks on a perilous adventure. Their journey leads them into the very heart of the Ottoman Empire: the Sultan’s palace in Istanbul. Amidst their enemies, they will find friends. In the depths of despair, they will find courage. And they will encounter the one who, as Sahaidachny predicted, would soon become vital to the future of all Ukraine.
