Early Career and Pseudonym Debut: The author's first book, the novel Sparta, was published in 2008 under his real name, Viktor Mykhailov. Origin of the Pseudonym: The pen name "Vald" appeared later, during the preparation for the publication of the novel The Executioner (Kat). Historical Novels about the Cossacks: "The Last Battle of Urus-Shaitan" (2017): A novel dedicated to the legendary Otaman Ivan Sirko. The work won the Grand Prix at the "Coronation of the Word" literary contest and brought the author nationwide acclaim.
